Since summer is fast approaching we have teamed up with Virgin Active to bring you — 'Bring a Ball to Work Week' from from 29 October until 2 November.
The idea is to sit on a ball at work instead of a chair for an entire week and in the evenings you can do the exercises we will be providing in the comfort of your home.
This week we encourage you to buy a ball in time for next week when we will be using the body balls at our desks instead of chairs. We have been sponsored balls by Virgin Active and the iafrica.com team is going to sit it out. We are hoping for abs of steel, but even if we come out with better posture we would have won in any case.
Just do it
Don't be embarrassed — just take that ball to work (you might have to check with the boss first though).
We've been given the 75 centimetre in diametre balls which should be pumped up according to each person's height. Your legs should be at a 90 degree angle when sitting at your desk — in other words knees bent at a right angle.
If you have no idea where to get the balls try your local sport's shop — they should have them or at least they will know where you can buy them.
During the week we encourage you to send comments on how you feel and how it is going, as well as suggestions and exercises that work for you. Simply email us...

Your comments so far...
Our financial director bought our staff a number of balls (30 +) just for general use, knowing how good it is for your posture etc.
The balls are distributed in the office and when you want to, you choose one and sit on it for how long you need to, and when you are
done, you go back to your normal chair.
Wonderful to see this idea growing!
