Anna: I’ve got psoriasis.

Prof Harry: You and 100 000 other people, a very common condition unfortunately.

Anna: I’ve had it for about ten years and I’ve been able to control it with ointment.

Prof Harry: You can usually control it, not always, but we can’t cure it because we don’t know the cause of it.

Anna: I’ve been in the sun and it has been so hot and at the moment it is worse. It seems to have flared up. It is very inflamed and I have a swollen leg, ankles that I’ve never had before.

Prof Harry: There may be a very simple explanation, it may be the heat and as a result of that you’ve got some swelling of the ankles. All you have to do is keep out of the sun, you seem to be rather sensitive to the sun and rest your leg, keep it in a elevated position. I don’t want you to go to bed, you can just lie on a coach and put a pillow under your leg and it will settle down.
