Harry: So the basic underlying problem seems to be the itching.
Minnie: Yes, and also the irritability inside my feet.
Harry: So clearly what we have to do if you haven't already done so, is to try and find out what the cause of the itch is. Very generally, the causes can be something in your environment, it can be something that you're putting on your skin, or it could be a soap or cream that you are using. There are all sorts of things that you could be exposed to that could be causing this itch. It could even be the clothes that you are wearing or exposure to animals around you. There are a whole variety of causes on the external side. The second group of causes would be on the internal side because you may have some medical problem inside the body. So you've got to look outside the body and inside the body. If you're looking inside the body, one possibility would be diabetes, although it usually doesn't cause the kind of itch that you are describing. So the message I'm giving you is that you have got to try and find the underlying cause of the itch, whether it be external or internal. Have you done that yet? Have you been to your doctor and given him a very careful history for half an hour to try and find out whether it is an internal or external problem? After he speaks to you, he will then examine you and at that stage he may say that you need a couple of blood tests. It is of the greatest importance because until you've found the cause you can't cure your problem.
Minnie: Okay, thank you.
