Question

I have very severe dandruff. What can I do about it?

Answer

Dandruff is a form of something called seborrheic dermatitis which is inflammation and scaling of the scalp, face and sometimes other areas. In spite of the name it does not mean that you have an unusually greasy skin.

In infants this is what is known as "cradle cap".

Treatment depends on the location and severity of the condition. There are different types of shampoos available over the counter, but if they are not effective you need to see your doctor and start using a prescription only product.
