Diet after gall bladder surgery
Posted Tue, 30 May 2000

Question

I have recently had my gall bladder removed. Is there a particular diet I should follow now? I do not want to become obese.

Answer I'm not sure where you get the idea that having your gall bladder taken out will lead to you becoming obese, but there is no relationship between obesity and having the gall bladder removed.

Anyone, whatever their age and general medical state, should follow a sensible diet.

See A healthy diet: what does it mean? for general guidelines. If you want specific advice, it is better to consult a dietician face to face, since he or she will be able to help you to work out what will fit in best with your lifestyle.
