Please could you tell me what the physical benefits of yoga are? I know that it is relaxing and good for the mind, but what I what to know is what will I gain physically?
Answer
The primary benefit of yoga is an increase in suppleness. This increase in length of your muscles and tendons will decrease your chance of injury in other sports. Whilst yoga can be physically taxing, it has only a minor benefit on physical fitness. So, use it physically to benefit your squash, running or whatever exercise you happen to be doing.
